Holiday Celebrations at THE OAKS
At THE OAKS, we make holidays special for our inner-city families. City missionaries bring busloads of people from communities to have time of building memories, being together as families and learning the true meaning of Christmas!
The day is filled with all kinds of opportunities for these guests to receive the love of God as World Impact staff and volunteers assist with the activities. There are hayrack rides, games, adventure activities, crafts and recreation to provide something for everyone! Often families get to take a family picture and make a picture frame so that they have a tangible reminder of this special day.
Along with the holiday meals, there is always a time of sharing what Christmas is really all about - that a Savior is born! Many make a personal decision to accept that gift and grow in a relationship with God.
There are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to assist with the many aspects involved on this day of ministering God's love with people from the inner-city... call and come be a part of this celebration!
Family Camp
Family Camp
Several times throughout the year, THE OAKS hosts special weekends to provide a family vacation for our inner-city friends. Some of these events are planned and directed by our city missionaries; others are organized and staffed by THE OAKS.
These weekends provide a time for inner-city families to get away to a place designed just for them and experience a great time together as well as spiritual encouragement. There are all kinds of opportunities for these guests to receive the love of God as World Impact staff and volunteers assist with the activities. There are hayrack rides, games, adventure activities, crafts and recreation to provide something for everyone! Often families get a carnival celebration with something for everyone!
Along with the delicious meals, there is always a time of sharing spiritual truth to encourage all who come! There may be an organized time for family devotions, seminars to assist, health consultations to support wellness and many other opportunities to invest in our guests. This is a valuable time to serve our inner-city families.

The purpose of meetings, seminars and activities at THE OAKS is to educate and inspire attendees with Biblical teaching and instruction. We also desire to follow government guidelines which require attendance at meetings for organized camps and educational organizations. Your participation at these meetings is necessary for us to accomplish these goals. Please plan to attend all meetings.

For several years in November, THE OAKS joins our Watts ministry in hosting a meaningful time of giving thanks with our inner-city friends. The Watts Family of Faith and Fellowship Church, planted by World Impact missionaries, brings busloads of people from their community to have time of growing as a church, being together as families and learning the true meaning of Thanksgiving!
The weekend is a valuable time for these guests to receive the love of God as leaders with this church and volunteers assist with the activities. There are powerful times of worship and teaching to strengthen this congregation. There are hayrack rides, games, adventure activities, crafts and recreation to provide something for everyone! Often families get to take a family picture and make a picture frame so that they have a tangible reminder of this special day.
Along with the turkey and dressing, there is always a time of sharing what Thanksgiving is really all about - that God does provide and we can be thankful! Many make a personal decision to grow in a relationship with God.
