Dan & Andrea Harbuck both hail from the great state of Texas. When they met in the Winter of 2001, Andrea was graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, and Dan was coming off another beautiful summer backpacking in the Sierra's with Summit Adventure based in Bass Lake, CA. They spent most of their courtship apart from each with Dan working for a Christian Camp in Queensland, Australia, and Andrea in between her parents house in Weston, FL and working for Alliance Redwoods Camp in Occidental, CA.

Dan was first introduced to THE OAKS and World Impact through Sean McFeely, the Program Director till 2006. Through Sean's invitation, Dan accepted a position as the Program Department Intern in the fall of 2002. Him and Andrea were engaged soon after and married April 9th 2003. Soon after, Dan accepted the position as interim Adventure & Outdoor Education Director at THE OAKS. He has since handed off the Outdoor Ed Program off to Jared Meidal to focus solely on the Adventure Program. Andrea works at home now taking care of Elle and helping out in different areas of the camp.  They are also expecting another little one in May of 2010.

Dan & Andrea love being so close to the beach and the mountains here in Southern California. Dan's passions include Brazilian jiu-jitsu, playing guitar, all kinds of sports, and kick'in it with family and friends. Andrea loves to knit, crochet, scrapbook, read, and play Settler's of Catan in her free time.

So long as we imagine it is we who have to look for God, we must often lose heart. But it is the other way about-He is looking for us.
