Dave and Leigh Nelson moved to THE OAKS from Western North Carolina. They have been involved with Christian camping for over 10 years and met whilst interning at a Christian camp in Canada. Dave is from Belfast, Northern Ireland and Leigh is from just outside Charlotte NC. They are both passionate about adventure and have worked in the outdoor industry together for the last 6 years.

Dave's main responsibilities at the camp are staffing and maintaining THE OAKS' many adventure activities. He is also deeply passionate about inner city missions and loves being involved in many aspects of summer camp here at THE OAKS. Dave loves seeing people move outside their comfort zone whether that is on the ropes course or just playing a simple trust game. Leigh is an English teacher by degree and is excited about pursuing opportunities to teach and interact with youth in or out of the classroom.

 When not working Dave and Leigh are most likely off hiking, climbing or exploring the different aspects of Gods creation they are seeing here in Southern California with their Jack Russell Terriers Sleepy and Gertie.
