Internship Program
The Intern Program includes:
• Job training in a setting that combines inner-city ministry and Christian camping.
• Personal spiritual growth through discipleship and small group involvement.
• Academic training through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) and book studies.
• Exposure to city ministry through trips to southern California cities.
Application / Interview:
• Deadline for applications: April 1.
• Start Date: Sept. 15.
• Applications are accepted year round. Interviews will take place at The Oaks Camp or by phone.
Finances: Interns raise 100% of the $650 they receive per month. This amount may be adjusted to include other costs such as operating a vehicle, and individual health insurance. Housing and meals while guest groups are here will be provided.
Internships available (with responsibilities):
We offer the following tracks of study as well as some combinations of the following
Media Intern
- Record, film and produce videos, CDs and podcasts
- Assist with graphic arts – develop logos, brochures, and flyers
- Maintain and develop website
Adventure/Outdoor Education Intern
- Assist with facilitation of Adventure elements for guest groups
- Assist with facilitation of Outdoor Education camps
- Maintenance and upkeep of equipment and Adventure elements
- Design and implement a new course or activity
Marketing Intern
- Marketing research and analysis
- Marketing strategy
- Implementation planning
- Reporting, measurement and feed back systems
I.T. Intern
- Ensure maximum availability of computer systems
- Provision of IT infrastructure services
- Development and implementation of new systems
- Responsible for IT hardware, software and maintenance procurement
Youth Programming Intern
- Develop, lead and execute camps and conferences for World Impact youth
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise summer staff
- Promote programs to World Impact city ministries and similar ministries

Mission: THE OAKS Camp and Conference Center is a ministry of World Impact Inc., a Christian missions organization focused on the youth and families of the inner city. THE OAKS is located in the San Gabriel Mountains, one hour north of Los Angeles. We serve urban youth and families as well as churches from southern California.
