Jared and Kim met while at THE OAKS Camp and Conference Center while serving together as summer staff in 2002.   They were married in January 2004, soon after graduating from college (Jared from George Fox University, Kim from Grace College).  After spending a couple of years in Kim’s hometown of Winona Lake, IN, Jared and Kim followed God’s call on their lives and joined missionary staff with World Impact, moving to THE OAKS in February 2006.

Jared’s main responsibilities at the camp include directing the Outdoor Education program, working with media, website and computer operations for the Program Department. He loves using God’s awesome and intricate Creation as a means of evangelism and discipleship to the camp guests.  Kim’s current focus is developing our 5K fundraiser, graphic design, and coffee!  In September 2007, Kim began Camp Grounds Coffee, the camp coffee shop, and has continued to manage it since then. Jared and Kim feel privileged to be able to use their God-given gifts to expand the Kingdom of God and reach the urban poor of America.

In the past two years the Meidal family has grown to include Micah (born September 2008) and Joey (born December 2009).  Jared and Kim are so thankful for the blessing of their growing family and for the opportunity to serve Christ daily at THE OAKS.  They are constantly in awe of God’s provision and grace upon their lives, through so many supporters and prayer warriors He has given them.
