We are glad you are interested in seeing how we might be able to partner in ministering to your students through our Outdoor Education Program. Please take a look at our sample schedules, curriculum and pricing.
THE OAKS has several distinctive which set us apart from most other programs:
-
Our facilities are very modern and comfortable. Most buildings are less than ten years old.
-
We are in a unique location which allows us quick access to special spots in the Angeles National Forest and high desert region.
-
Our food service is generous and delicious. We offer all you can eat food including a fresh salad bar, cappuccino service and soda machines.
-
We seek to integrate team building and adventure experiences with the Outdoor Education program so your student can grow not only in their knowledge of their creator and his creation, but in fellowship as a class.
-
Our schedules tend to be highly structured and fast paced with very little free time so the students don't get bored.
-
Our classes are interactive and and are almost never in the sitting position or in lecture format.
-
Students experience creation to the full; so they do get muddy, wet, and cold.
-
We encourage a wilderness adventure component and offer overnight camp outs in tents with students and teachers cooking their own meals as a community.
-
We plan our program to meet your needs and intended learning objectives. We provide a customized three-fold brochure for your school so you can inform and reassure your parents.
-
You are the only school on site if you have at least twenty-five participants.
-
Our staff are career missionaries with World Impact, an inner city missions organization. By using our facilities you help send inner city kids to camp at THE OAKS in the summer.
We offer two basic programs; a three-day (2 night, 6 meals) program called Genesis Journey and a five-day (4n, 12m) program called Exodus Expedition. We require at least one chaperone per ten students, but it is often easier on the teacher to have one to five or greater ratio. We are very open to different time periods and schedules and can give you a custom quote for a program that does not fit into this frameworks.
At this time, we can effectively handle programming for groups of up to one-hundred including teachers and chaperones. We can accommodate groups up to one-hundred and sixty if the school is willing to share in the programming and teaching load. Please call today to set up a tour and to check for calendar availability.
