Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt like you were being followed? Like someone was pursuing you and you couldn't get away from them? Well, someone is pursing you.Jesus Christ. There is no way that we can escape His presence. Think about it, God knows you better than you know yourself, He is omniscient. God is the expert on your life. He is "intimately acquainted with our ways." He knows the word we will speak before it is even a thought in our mind. He formed our inward parts and wove us together in our mother's womb.
Having a God who is omniscient, do you think perhaps our greatest mistake is we do not seek the guidance of Him enough? We tend to reserve God's direct guidance for "emergencies" because we can handle all ordinary affairs with our own knowledge and abilities. Seeking God's guidance must be a continuous, conscious, moment-to-moment practice, in all things, great and small. It must, as much as possible, become second nature. It is a fatal error to leave God's guidance simply to the "big" things. It is the constant "little" things that are shaping our character and our destiny. God is not a compass to be glanced at occasionally and briefly, to see that we are moving generally in the right direction. He is essential as a guide for our every moment.
As we continue to look to God for guidance, we begin to realize that He has placed us on a journey, destined for the throne. We are the very Bride of Christ, royalty. Do we really grasp that concept? A true Christian is not just someone who goes to church when they feel like it. A true Christian is preparing for a wedding, and the bridegroom is Jesus Himself.
His pursuit of us is everlasting, something that we can never flee. As we grow deeper in our walk with the Lord, how can we not fall humbly on our knees before His mighty throne, worshipping our Savior?
